RES is proposing the development of the Inwood Energy Storage Project as part of the Independent Electricity System Operator’s (IESO) Long-Term Request for Proposals LT2(c-1). The IESO calls for such proposals to meet Ontario’s growing electricity needs as demand increases and ensure sufficient supply well into the 2030s and beyond.

Chosen for its proximity to existing transmission lines with available capacity, the Inwood Energy Storage Project will help provide the provincial electric system with the reliability services needed to support increasing electricity demand by storing electricity during off-peak periods and supplying it to the grid during peak demand hours.
